Chesterton (Mark Peterson, fifth season): 2-8, lost to LaPorte, 17-7, in Class 6A sectional semifinal. Have to replace defensive back Valshawn Stewart and lineman Zach Johnson. Top players back include senior linebacker Brett Roeske and junior lineman-long snapper Charlie Bernth.

Crown Point (Kevin Enright, sixth season): 6-6, lost to Penn, 23-0, in Class 6A regional. Have to replace linebacker Don Schuch and defensive back Zach Stewart. Top players back include senior quarterback Ryan Bolda and senior running back Tyler Gomez.

Lake Central (Tony Bartolomeo, first season): 4-6, lost to Crown Point, 10-6, in Class 6A sectional semifinal. Have to replace wide receiver Josh Benson and running back Anthony Giles. Top players back include junior quarterback Zach Bundalo and senior linebacker Jackson Long.

LaPorte (Dave Sharpe, third season): 9-2, lost to Penn, 42-21, in Class 6A sectional final. Have to replace defensive back Owen Strieter and running back Brennen Long. Top players back include senior quarterback Nolan Lorenz and senior defensive back Brenton Forker.

Merrillville (Brad Seiss, third season): 5-6, lost to Crown Point, 24-19, in Class 6A sectional final. Have to replace wide receiver James Kirklen and lineman Anthony Sams. Tops players back include junior quarterback Cameron Wright and junior defensive back Anthony Swims.

Michigan City (Phil Mason, second season): 7-4, lost to Mishawaka, 18-7, in Class 5A sectional final. Have to replace running backs Markice Hurt and Aryuan Cain-Veasey. Top players back include senior quarterback Michael McCullough and senior wide receiver Keyshawn McGill.

Portage (Darren Rodriguez, second season): 6-4, lost to Merrillville, 22-21, in Class 6A sectional semifinal. Have to replace running back David Herrod and lineman Nick Johnson. Top players back include senior quarterback Anthony Maceo and senior linebacker Drake Guerrero.

Valparaiso (Dave Coyle, sixth season): 5-5, lost to Penn, 35-7, in Class 6A sectional semifinal. Have to replace linebackers Patrick Olson and Bobby Lee. Top players back include senior quarterback Jacob Leffew and senior linebacker Riley Woodward.
