Jordyn Smith Breaks Holy Cross College’s All-Time Assists Record, Becomes Program Leader in Both Assists and Steals

The Holy Cross College Women’s Basketball Team have a new name at the top of the record books—Jordyn Smith. The senior guard from Granger, Indiana and Penn High School alum has officially cemented herself as the program’s all-time leader in both assists and steals, with 474 assists and 259 steals to her name. Smith’s latest milestone came as she surpassed the previous assists record by two, with three games left to add to her total. She will look to extend her lead when the Saints take on Saint Xavier this Saturday.

Since stepping onto the court as a freshman, Smith has been a model of consistency and leadership, playing in 109 games and starting in 108. Her ability to create scoring opportunities for teammates while locking down opponents on defense has been a driving force for the Saints.

Since stepping onto the court for Holy Cross, Smith has been a force on both ends of the floor, displaying elite court vision, defensive tenacity, and leadership. Her consistent playmaking ability has been evident throughout her career:

  • 2021-22: 122 assists, 67 steals
  • 2022-23: 115 assists, 76 steals
  • 2023-24: 127 assists, 61 steals
  • 2024-25: 110 assists (so far), 55 steals (so far)

Over four seasons, Smith has been a key contributor for the Saints, tallying over 3,400 minutes played while showcasing her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Her defensive presence and ability to create opportunities for her teammates have been instrumental in the program’s success.

As she continues to add to her historic totals, Jordyn Smith‘s legacy at Holy Cross College is firmly secured.
