Alberghetti’s Game Winner Seals the Deal for TU

UPLAND, Ind. – A first period goal by Juan Alberghetti lifted the TU men’s soccer team to a 2-1 win at Judson on Saturday.

Alberghetti’s game-winning goal put the Trojans (2-1-0) ahead 2-0 in the 21st minute, as he secured his first netter of 2018 and of his career.

The Purple and Gold opened the scoring column early in the match. Josiah Wieland hit the back of the net in the seventh minute off a pass from Cole Guillaume to take an early lead. Wieland leads the team with three goals and has scored in each of the first three matches to start the season.

The Eagles (0-1-0) scored just after intermission in the 48th minute to trim the lead to 2-1, but could not find the back of the net the rest of the match. Judson had the shot advantage in the contest, taking 17 shots, with seven on goal.

Luke Williams had six saves while in goal for TU, pushing his season total to 10. Williams now has a goals allowed average of 1.3 after the team’s first-three games.

Taylor is back in action on Monday at Trinity International for a 4:00 p.m. (ET) match.
