Ashton Ellis Signs with Lake Superior State University

Goshen High School senior Ashton Ellis will be attending Lake Superior State University where she has been recruited to play women’s basketball for Kristen Rogers.  Throughout high school, Ellis participated in soccer, track and basketball and has received several varsity awards during her time at Goshen.  For basketball alone, she received academic all-state honorable mention (2016-17), Edward Jones Student Athlete of the Month (November 2016), MVP (2015-16 and 2016-17), NLC all-conference honorable mention (2014 and 2017), NLC all-conference (2015 and 2016), Hustle Award (2015-16), Defense award (2013-14), Red Blaze award (2014-15), Beets Hoke Teamwork award (2014-15 and 2015-16), and Kiwanis Scholar Athlete (2013-2017). Ashton is a Stay in Bounds ambassador, a member of the National Honor Society, and a senior leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Outside of school, she also participates in 4-H, AAU basketball, and NMC youth group.  At Lake Superior State, she plans on pursuing a degree in biology with a minor in chemistry to eventually become an orthodontist.
