Postgame Notes

  • Purdue advanced to its fourth Big Ten Championship game with a 78-70 win over Penn State.
  • Purdue also reached the finals in 1998, 2009 and 2016, making its second finals appearance in the last three years.
  • Purdue won the title as a No. 3 seed in 2009, defeating No. 5 seed Ohio State 65-61 in the finals.
  • Purdue’s 28 victories are now one shy of the school record set three different times (2010, 1994, 1988)
  • Purdue made 11-of-21 (.524) from 3-point range in the victory, now shooting 24-of-51 (.471) during the Big Ten Tournament.
  • Purdue’s senior class is now 7-0 all-time against Penn State.
  • Purdue is 21-0 this year when shooting 48.0 percent or better from the field.
  • Purdue has set a school record for 3-pointers in a season (322).

  • Vincent Edwards grabbed his 750th career rebound and now needs four assists to become the 11th player nationally in the last 25 years with 1,500 career points, 700 rebounds, 400 assists and 150 made 3-pointers.
