The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Portage junior basketball players Analise Franklin and Jordan Barnes and Jimtown senior basketball player Preston Phillips.

In Friday’s 57-31 win over previously unbeaten Munster in the Lake Central holiday tournament, the 5-foot-2 Franklin connected on three 3-pointers and totaled 11 points. Then, in Saturday’s 60-56 overtime victory over the host Indians in the championship game, Franklin had a key steal that set up a game-tying basket by Barnes at the end of regulation to force overtime  The 5-foot-6 Barnes tallied nine of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter and overtime for the Indians (14-5).

This past Friday, the 6-foot-7 Phillips helped the Jimmies (7-2) claim the Plymouth First Source Bank Holiday Tournament title by netting 24 points, grabbing eight rebounds, handing out seven assists, and coming up with two steals in a 64-29 victory over Knox. It was Jimtown’s first tournament crown in basketball since 2008.

The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
