The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Penn junior basketball player Reganne Pate and Michigan City senior basketball player Hannah Noveroske.
In Thursday’s 87-26 Northern Indiana Conference win over South Bend Adams, the 5-foot-7 Pate set a school-record by knocking down nine 3-pointers and finished with 27 points. Then, in Saturday’s 50-48 win over Elkhart Central, she converted five more 3-pointers, good for 15 points, to help the No. 3 (Class 4A) Kingsmen improve to 17-0 overall and 8-0 in the NIC.
In Saturday’s 85-28 win over Bowman Academy, the 6-foot-4 Noveroske poured in 40 points to become the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,611 points. She surpassed 2009 graduate Te’Kenya Nixon, who held the previous mark with 1,610 points. The Xavier University recruit also tallied 20 points, 13 rebounds, and seven blocked shots in Friday’s 51-47 loss to No. 5 (Class 4A) Crown Point for the Wolves (13-4).
The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
