The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Morgan Township pitcher Tyler Bush and South Bend Adams infielder Breckin Brown.
In Monday’s 11-0 victory over Hammond Academy, the senior hurler tossed a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and just one walk. He also went 1-for-2 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Then in the Cherokees’ 7-6 win over South Central on Friday in Porter County Conference action, Bush improved his record to 2-0 by tossing 2 1/3 innings of relief, allowing two hits with six strikeouts and three walks.
In Friday’s 5-3 upset of top-ranked and defending Class 3A state champion South Bend Saint Joseph, the senior standout snapped a 3-3 tie with an RBI double in the sixth inning of the Northern Indiana Conference contest. Earlier, in the Eagles’ 14-2 triumph over Elkhart Memorial on Thursday, Brown paved the way with two hits and four RBIs.
The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sports and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
