The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are Chesterton’s Braden Corzan and Calumet’s Thomas Jackson.
At Wednesday’s Duneland Conference track and field championship held at Portage, Corzan took the 100-meter dash in 10.94 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 22.19 seconds. The junior was also part of the winning 400-meter relay team with Phil Flores and EJ Biokoro in a time of 42.22 and the 1600-meter relay team along with Luke Villarreal, EJ Bickoro, and Louie Razo in a time of 3:26.01.
In Thursday’s Greater South Shore Conference track and field meet held at North Newton, Jackson won the long jump with a leap of 20-4, the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.23 seconds, and the 400-meter run in a time of 51.84 seconds. The senior was also part of the winning 1,600-meter relay with Raheem Boyd, James Spikes, and Blake Stone that remained unbeaten for the season with a time of 3:36.19.
The Center Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned event and whose school is in Center Bank geographic area.
