GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Student-Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the top athletes from the week of November 19-24. Men’s basketball sophomore Trevion Crews earned his second NCCAA Men’s Basketball National Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the month.
Crews led the Pilots to their second straight road win at Odle Arena against Taylor for the first time since 94-95 and 95-96, and recorded team-season highs of 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 steals, while adding 6 assists and shooting 12-16 from the free throw line in the 80-74 come-from-behind victory. Through ten games, Crews is the only player at any level of men’s collegiate basketball to rank in the top 15 nationally in total points, rebounds, assists, and steals.
It is the 10th NCCAA National Student-Athlete of the Week honor for the Bethel Pilots in 2018-19 and the fifth accolade for Crews this season, also earning Crossroads League Player of the Week on November 5, 12, and 26 and NCCAA National Student-Athlete of the Week on November 5. He becomes the first player in program history to take home five Player of the Week honors in a single month.
Each student-athlete has been nominated by his/her respective institution and exemplifies the Christian ideals held by the NCCAA.
