Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | December 3-9

 

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the top athletes from the week of December 3 through 9. Sports Information Directors from the league nominate student-athletes for the award and vote on each week’s winners.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Paul Marandet, Spring Arbor

Marandet led No. 23 Spring Arbor to upsets of No. 1 and No. 5 last week, scoring 20 points in each win and averaging 20.0 points and 8.5 assists, while shooting 57.1 percent and helping the Cougars to 92.5 points per outing from his point guard position.

Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kendall Bradbury, Taylor

Bradbury netted 19.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game to help No. 10 Taylor to a pair of league wins, including a Top-25 win at Huntington. Bradbury posted a double-double against HU, before scoring 24 in a win against Goshen.

 

Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Tyler Majors, Marian

Majors broke MU’s indoor record in the shot put in his first collegiate meet, finished second overall and hit the A standard with a toss of 16.10 meters at the Indiana State Early Bird Meet.

 

Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Austin Hickerson, Spring Arbor

Hickerson hit the NAIA A standard and set a new SAU record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.99 and ran a personal-best time of 22.52 in the 200-meters.

 

Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Queen Walker, Bethel

Walker scored a pair of event wins for BC, topping the field in the weight throw and shot put with marks of 15.94 and 12.34 meters.

 

Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Taylor Roasa, Goshen

Roasa set two Goshen records on Saturday, posting a time of 8.23 in the 60-meter dash and 27.29 in the 200-meter dash.
