Crossroads League Announces Athletes of the Week | January 21-27

 

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the top athletes from the week of January 21 through 27. Sports Information Directors from the league nominate student-athletes for the award and vote on each week’s winners.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Paul Marandet, Spring Arbor

Marandet averaged a double-double with 22.5 points, 10.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in No. 5 SAU’s victories over Grace and Huntington. The junior guard went for 33 points and 12 helpers in a double-overtime win over GC.

Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kendall Bradbury, Taylor

Bradbury played all 80 minutes in No. 9 Taylor’s wins over No. 7 Marian and No. 18 USF, netting 22.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per victory, while shooting 55.9 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the charity stripe.

 

Men’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Jordan Downs, Bethel

Downs turned in a long jump-winning leap of 7.73 meters to break the Grand Valley State facility record and hit the NAIA A standard, while also hitting the A mark in the 200 meters.

 

Men’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Josh Roth, Taylor

Roth won the 5,000-meter run at the Grand Valley State Open with an NAIA A standard time of 14:50.71. The time was one second off TU’s program record and the fifth-best in the NAIA this season.

 

Women’s Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Kasey Keith, Mount Vernon Nazarene

Keith showed well for MVNU at the Capital Invite, winning the shot put with a toss of 12.46 meters, and taking seventh in the weight throw at 13.39 meters.

 

Women’s Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Nordia Campbell, Grace

Campbell scored wins in the 60-meters, 200-meters and 4×400-meter relay for Grace at the Defiance Invite.
