Crossroads League Announces Men’s Basketball Award Winners

 

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its 2018-2019 Men’s Basketball All-League honors on Wednesday, one day after Indiana Wesleyan clinched the Crossroads League Tournament Championship after tying Spring Arbor for the regular season title.

 

The Wildcats hauled in seven awards from four individuals, highlighted by Kyle Mangas repeating as the Crossroads League Player of the Year and Joel Okafor claiming CL Defensive Player-of-the-Year honors. Evan Maxwell joined Mangas in representing IWU on the First-Team, with Okafor also claiming Third-Team and All-Defensive Team honors and Seth Maxwell making the All-Freshmen team.

 

Spring Arbor’s Ryan Cottingham was voted the Crossroads League Coach of the Year, with Huntington’s Caleb Middlesworth being named the CL Freshman of the Year. Joining Mangas and Maxwell on the First-Team were Paul Marandet of Spring Arbor, Trevion Crews of Bethel, Jevon Knox of Mount Vernon Nazarene and Wes Stowers of Marian.

 

The All-Crossroads League honors are voted on by the 10 head coaches from around the league and announced by the Crossroads League office.
