Crossroads League Announces Women’s Golf Award Winners
INDIANAPOLIS – The Crossroads League announced its 2017 Women’s Golf All-League honors on Wednesday, one day after Taylor clinched its first-ever CL Championship to secure the league’s automatic team bid to the NAIA National Championships.
The Trojans placed three individuals inside the top-10 on the individual leaderboard, with Maddie Thomas finishing second, Raquel Helton claiming seventh and Brittany Pfaff ending 10th to give TU three of the 12 All-Crossroads League honors. Taylor’s Cameron Andry also claimed CL Coach-of-the-Year honors and TU freshman Maddie Thomas was named the CL Newcomer of the Year.
Marissa Singer of Saint Francis rolled to the Crossroads League Individual Championship and was named the CL Player of the Year after shooting 74, 75, 80 for a three-round total of 229 and an eight-shot lead on the field. The USF freshman earned the CL’s automatic individual bid to NAIA Nationals with the medalist honors.
Singer, Thomas, Helton and Pfaff were joined on the All-Crossroads League team by Indiana Wesleyan’s Carley LaPlant and Maggie Kaiser, Marian’s Alexa West, Taylor Wilson and Emily Tilton, Spring Arbor’s Madison Waldie and Nikki LaLonde of Saint Francis.
