Crossroads League Basketball Claims Eight CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League placed eight student-athletes on the 2019 CoSIDA Google Cloud NAIA Men’s and Women’s All-District Basketball Teams on Thursday. Grace, Taylor and Mount Vernon Nazarene each claimed two honors, with Spring Arbor and Saint Francis picking up one award each.

On the men’s side, Crossroads League student-athletes took five of the 10 available spots from Districts I and II, with the CL women taking three-of-10 spots from the 27-states represented in those two districts.

The eight student-athletes will advance to the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on March 14. CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-America honors are voted on by CoSIDA members from around the nation.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-American awards are designed to recognize outstanding achievements in the classroom, as well as on the court or field of play. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must be nominated by their institution’s Sports Information Department, must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher with at least one full year at their current institution, must have reached sophomore academic status and must have participated in over half of their team’s competitions as a key contributor during the current season.
