DeGraaf Makes Jump to Toronto’s AA Affiliate

UPLAND, Ind. – After opening his third professional campaign with 10 strong outings, Josh DeGraaf was recently promoted to his fifth stop within the Toronto Blue Jays organization, this time advancing to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League.

DeGraaf earned one start and nine relief appearances with Dunedin to open the year, fanning 15 batters in 13.2 innings, while walking only two and allowing 15 hits to Class-A Advanced hitters.

Since being promoted to the Double-A level on May 5, DeGraaf has taken the mound three times with improved results in each outing. The former 31st-round draft pick of the Blue Jays in the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft has posted back-to-back scoreless appearances and struck out four batters over 3.2 innings of work.

In 65 appearances over five levels within the Toronto Blue Jays organization, DeGraaf owns a 3.53 earned-run average with 132 strikeouts to just 42 walks over 155.1 innings of work.

DeGraaf pitched for Taylor from 2012 through 2015, winning 29 games and being selected as the Crossroads League Pitcher of the Year in each of his final three seasons with the Trojans.
