KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Southeastern University baseball coach Adrian Dinkel has been named the 2018 NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association National Coach of the year, announced by the NAIA Thursday.
This past season, Dinkel guided the Fire to its first NAIA national championship in any sport by winning the Avista-NAIA World Series.
The NAIA-BCA National Coach of the Year is voted on by the NAIA-BCA National Coach of the Year is voted on by the NAIA-BCA Executive Committee and NAIA-BCA Past Presidents. To be eligible, a head coach must be selected as their conference coach of the year or lead their team to the Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series.
In two seasons in Lakeland, Dinkel has posted a 109-18 record with a Sun Conference Tournament championship in 2017.
Dinkel becomes the first coach in school history selected as an NAIA National Coach of the Year.
