Home Runs Galore as IWU Baseball Slams Grace

MARION, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan baseball scored 39 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Grace (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Field. Nine Wildcats combined to hit 10 home runs in 27-5 and 12-4 victories over the Lancers.

  • Wapahani High School grads and Indiana Wesleyan freshmen Hayden Castor and Grant Thompson each hit a grand slam. Thompson hit his in the 2nd inning while Castor followed with one in the 3rd inning.
  • Indiana Wesleyan outhit Grace 24-5 as nine Wildcats recorded a hit. Seven players produced multi-hit efforts.
  • The 27 runs is the most for IWU since a 27-0 win at Ecclesia (Ark.) in the 2016 opener on February 12, 2016.
