Garzon Named To 2025 Cheryl Miller Award Top 10

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Indiana women’s basketball junior guard Yarden Garzon has been named to the 2025 Cheryl Miller Award Top 10, announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Wednesday.
Garzon is Indiana’s leading scorer with 14.7 points per game and adds 4.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. She has scored in double figures in 17 games while shooting 42.6 percent from the floor and 41.4 percent from 3-point range. The Ra’anana, Israel native leads the Hoosiers with a team-high 60 3-pointers and is in the top 50 nationally in 3-pointers per game (17th) ,3-pointers made (22nd), 3-point percentage (39th) and 3-point attempts (41st). She is working her way up the all-time career list for 3-pointers made in school history as she sits in 10th place all-time (162).
The Cheryl Miller Award, in its eighth year, honors the top small forwards in women’s Division I women’s college basketball. It is named after the three-time Naismith Player of the Year and Class of 1995 Hall of Famer.
Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in both of the remaining rounds starting on Friday, February 7, on hoophallawards.com. The Fan Vote will count as one committee vote during the finalist selection process.
In March, the Top 10 list will be narrowed to just five, and in late March, the five finalists will be presented to Erving, Miller, and the Hall of Fame’s selection committees, where winners will be selected. The Selection Committees for the Julius Erving and Cheryl Miller Awards are composed of top men’s and women’s college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.
The winner of the 2025 Erving and Miller Awards will be presented on a to-be-determined date, along with the other four members of the Men’s and Women’s Starting Five. Additional awards being presented include the Bob Cousy and Nancy Lieberman Awards (Point Guard), Jerry West and Ann Meyers Drysdale Awards (Shooting Guard), Karl Malone and Katrina McClain Awards (Power Forward), and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Lisa Leslie Awards (Center).
