IUSB Returns Home to Face Trinity Christian Before Road Test at Ranked St. Ambrose
SOUTH BEND, Ind. –Indiana University South Bend men’s basketball aims to get back in the win column this week, hosting Trinity Christian on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m. before heading to No. 16 St. Ambrose on Saturday, Jan. 18 for a 4 p.m. (EST) tip.
The Titans saw its four-game winning streak snapped last week to the hands of Governors State on Wednesday, Jan. 8 in University Park, Ill. by a score of 90-71. IUSB hosts its second of three homes games in January this week as the Titans prove to be strong at home this season at 7-2 overall.
Wednesday’s midweek battle is the 17th meeting all-time and second time during 2019-20 after the Trolls came away with an 83-70 victory in Palos Heights, Ill. in the earlier matchup. IUSB holds a slight 9-7 advantage in the head-to-head but has only won one game in the last four.
Saturday’s CCAC clash is a crucial league game as IUSB upset No. 16 St. Ambrose in the first of two meetings this season. The Titans defeated the Bees 100-78 inside the Student Activities Center back on Dec. 21, 2019 to even the all-time series at 4-4.
Senior transfer Kourtlandt Martin leads the Titans with 248 points this season and ranks 22nd in the conference with 13.8 points per game. Junior Norell Smith is 17th in the CCAC with 6.4 rebounds per game having grabbed 115 total rebounds through 19 games. Martin is also top on the team with 70 total assists and is fifth in the CCAC with 3.89 per game while his 1.56 steals per game is 11th-best in the league.
