ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Indiana Wesleyan University football ran into the highest ranked team they play this season in No. 15 Concordia (Mich.). The Cardinals used a strong opening half to beat the Wildcats 55-7 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
TOUGH START
Concordia raced out to a 14-0 lead before the game was four minutes old. CU took the opening kickoff 70 yards and scored four play later. ON the first IWU possession, Zack Blair threw a pick-6 on the third play of the drive for the second Concordia touchdown with 11:34 left on the first quarter clock.
GROUND ATTACK
The Wildcats finished with 107 yards rushing on 34 carries. Devodney Alford led the way for IWU with 77 yards on 17 carries for 4.2 yards per carry average. Tyrell Phelps added 53 yards on 11 attempts for 4.6 yards per carry.
ROAD WARRIORS
Indiana Wesleyan finished their four-game road trip with a 2-2 record and finish 3-2 away from Marion this season. Both road losses came to NAIA Top-25 opponents.
NEXT FOR THE WILDCATS
Indiana Wesleyan hosts Lawrence Tech on November 17 in the final game of the 2018 season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
