INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — In the final regular season game of 2017 the Indiana Wesleyan softball team lost 1-0 to No. 4 Marian (Ind.) in eight innings. Game two of the doubleheader was canceled due to rain and will not be rescheduled. IWU next competes on May 3-5 in the Crossroads League Tournament.

- The extra inning loss snapped the Indiana Wesleyan 14 game win streak. It is the first IWU loss since April 8.
- Kaisey Carson was the first Wildcat to reach base via an error in the 4th inning. In the next inning, Sara Kreitzer connect on the only Indiana Wesleyan hit in the game.
- In the 8th inning, Mackenzie Reeder hit a two-out single to score Erica Miller for the Marian walk-off victory.
- Marian starter Breena Smith pitched a one-hitter to lead the Knights to the win. In 8.0 innings of work, Smith struck out 15 Wildcats without issuing a walk.
