IWU Softball Sweeps Grace on Senior Day

MARION, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan softball finished their regular season home schedule on Saturday with a doubleheader sweep of Grace (Ind.) at Wildcat Field. IWU outscored Grace 10-1 on Senior Day to grow their win streak to 12 games.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Indiana Wesleyan quickly gained a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning when Alex Springer hit a sac fly that scored Kaisey Carson and Lauren Buckley also scored on the play due to a Grace error.
  • Victoria Boyer contributed an RBI single in the 4th inning as IWU increased the lead to 3-1.
  • Kira Madl and Kaisey Carson each had one RBI in the 6th inning for the 5-1 final score.
  • Indiana Wesleyan outhit Grace, 8-3.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Indiana Wesleyan once again scored in the 1st inning as the Wildcats put a three spot on the board in game two. Alex Springer had a two run single and Ellen DeYoung scored on a passed ball in the frame.
  • IWU scored two more times in the 4th inning for the 5-0 lead. Kaisey Carson had an RBI single while Lauren Buckley added an RBI groundout.
  • The Wildcats held a 9-3 advantage in hits.
