Volleyball Drops Crucial Match at Saint Francis

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Saint Francis (Ind.) outlasted Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball 3-2 in a battle between teams tied for second place in the Crossroads League. The teams traded sets the entire night before USF won the fifth set 15-13. The victory gives Saint Francis a 12-3 record in the league and sole possession of second place while the loss ends the IWU 10-match win streak as they fall to 11-4 in league play.
WIN STREAK COMES TO AN END
Indiana Wesleyan suffered their first loss since September 21 at #RV Marian (Ind.). Six of those 10 straight wins came in Crossroads League play.
SETTING NEW STANDARDS
Setter Kendyll Gebert finished with a career-high 53 assists on Wednesday. Her previous high was 45 vs. Taylor (Ind.) earlier this season.
STAT CAST
The Wildcats suffered the loss despite 59 kills compared to 49 for the Cougars. However, IWU committed 35 errors and ended the night with a .159 attack percentage.

Indiana Wesleyan plays a pair of non-league matches this weekend in the Chicago area. IWU plays at St. Xavier (Ill.) at 7 p.m. on Friday and at Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
