IWU Volleyball’s Moats Honored for 800th Career Win

MARION, Ind. – In a pregame ceremony on Saturday afternoon Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball head coach Candace Moats was honored for her 800th career win.

Indiana Wesleyan Director of Athletics Mark DeMichael presented Moats with a game ball that was signed by the Wildcats. The 800 career wins ranks fifth amongst active NAIA coaches.

Moats reached the career milestone on September 16 win a 3-0 win over Goshen (Ind.). With two more wins this weekend, Moats holds a career mark of 802-329 (.709). She is currently in her 16th season as head coach of the Wildcats and has built a record of 485-174 (.736).

Moats has coached for 34 seasons at three different schools. She started her career at Crown (Minn.) College for 11 seasons and then coached at Grace (Ind.) for seven seasons. Her past 16 seasons have been at Indiana Wesleyan which began in 2002.
