Education: Mishawaka High School (1983). Bethel College (1988, BA in Education)

Athletics: Served as equipment manager and statiscian at Mishawaka for football, wrestling and baseball teams. Served as Sports Information Director at Bethel for baseball, men’s, and women’s basketball teams.

Work experience: South Bend Silver Hawks (1989-1992). Worked in the front office in various positions. South Bend Tribune (1992-2011). Coverage of high school and college sports.

Career highlights: Had the privilege to staff several high school state championship contests. Being able to follow Bethel’s men’s basketball team during their run to the NAIA Division II National Championship in 1995, 1997, and 1998.

Awards: Winner of 2004 IIAAA Distinguished Service Award. Winner of 2005 NSSA Indiana Sportswriter of the Year. Winner of the 2007 IFCA Media Award. Six-time recipient of IBCA Media Award.

Family: Brother-Mike.

Favorite pro teams: Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

Favorite college teams: Bethel and Notre Dame.

Favorite sportswriters: Al Lesar and Eric Hansen.

Favorite sportscasters: Paul Condry and Pat Hughes.

Favorite foods: Pizza and any type of pasta.

Most influencial people: My parents. They always supported and believed in me.

Hobbies: Reading and watching sports.

Something people might not know about me: I’m a big fan of Frank Sinatra’s music and movies.
