Michigan’s Mann claims first star after backstopping Wolverines to weekend sweep at No. 14/14 Notre Dame

 

First Star

Strauss Mann, Michigan

  • Led the Wolverines to a weekend sweep at No. 14/14 Notre Dame, highlighted by Michigan’s first-ever shutout at Compton Family Ice Arena
  • Recorded his second shutout of the season on Friday, turning aside all 32 shots faced in the 3-0 victory
  • Finished the series with 57 saves and a 0.50 goals-against average to go along with a conference-leading .983 save percentage
  • Earns his second career weekly award

  • Led the conference with three points on a trio of goals in Wisconsin’s weekend split against No. 8/7 Ohio State
  • Netted the then-tying goal on Friday to give him a +1 rating on the night
  • Recorded the second two-goal game of his career on Saturday to guide the Badgers to a 5-2 victory
  • Earns his first career weekly honor

Jared Moe, Minnesota

  • Backstopped the Gophers for nearly 100 minutes last weekend, helping Minnesota pick up three points in a series split at No. 20/- Michigan State
  • Stopped all 28 shots faced to record his first collegiate shutout on Saturday night, including a third period breakaway and a 5-on-3 opportunity for the Spartans to close out the second period
  • Made 42 saves on the weekend, posting a .977 save percentage and a 0.60 goals-against average to record Minnesota’s first shutout since Nov. 17, 2018 (Eric Schierhorn vs. St. Lawrence) and the first road shutout in over two years
  • Earns his first career weekly award
