Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio State Earn Three Stars

Wolverines’ Lavigne earns First Star after backstopping Michigan to weekend sweep of No. 1/1 Notre Dame

 

First Star

Hayden Lavigne, Michigan

G – So. – Brampton, Ont.

 

  • Backstopped Michigan to a weekend sweep of No. 1/1 Notre Dame, making 69 saves for a conference-leading .972 save percentage
  • Recorded 34 saves in a 4-2 victory on Friday at Notre Dame
  • Turned aside all 35 shots faced for his third shutout of the season on Sunday night in Ann Arbor
  • Earns his third career weekly award and second of the season

  • Backstopped the Gophers to a 1-0-1-0 weekend against No. 6/6 Ohio State
  • Made 59 saves on 61 shots for a .967 save percentage and a conference-leading 0.96 goals-against average
  • Improved to 7-2-1 on the year and has now allowed two goals or fewer in nine of his 11 appearances this season
  • Earns his fourth career weekly award

  • Posted a .952 save percentage and 1.45 goals-against average as the Buckeyes went 0-1-1-1 at No. 10/9 Minnesota
  • Made 26 saves on Friday before making 34 stops in 65 minutes on Sunday, including seven on the penalty kill
  • Allowed just one goal and made a save to secure the shootout victory in the eighth round, and lock up second place for the Buckeyes, on Sunday night
  • Earns his fifth career weekly award
