Michigan, Minnesota and Penn State Standouts Honored as Three Stars

Michigan’s Moyle earns first star after tallying game-winning and game-tying goals in series against No. 6/5 Ohio State

 

First Star

Nolan Moyle, Michigan

F – Fr. – Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.

  • Recorded three points on the weekend, including a game-winning goal, to help the Wolverines go 1-0-1 against No. 6/5 Ohio State
  • Scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in Friday’s come-from-behind 4-2 victory
  • Netted the game-tying goal midway through the third period on Saturday to send the game to overtime
  • Earns his first career weekly award

  • Led the Big Ten in save percentage (.931) and goals-against average (2.02) over the weekend to help Minnesota split the weekend series against No. 16/- Notre Dame and claim home ice for the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals
  • Stopped 54 of 58 shots he faced, making 28 saves in Friday’s 3-2 loss to the Irish before stopping 26 of 27 in Saturday’s 2-1 win to clinch home ice
  • Shares the Big Ten lead with 10 conference victories this season and ranks third with a .922 save percentage
  • Claims his sixth career weekly award and his first since Jan. 15, 2019 (First Star)
