Gophers’ Hope Brandner and Wildcats’ Danielle Williams receive Big Ten’s top honors this week

Player of the Week

Hope Brandner, Minnesota

Batted .500 with a .667 on-base percentage and 1.625 slugging percentage last week, hitting three home runs with six RBI and three runs scored as the nationally-ranked Golden Gophers took two of three games at Big Ten foe Illinois last weekend

Collected home runs in each game of the Illinois series, including a go-ahead eighth-inning home run in game two on April 6 and a first-inning home run in the series finale later that day

Reached base in eight of her 12 plate appearances during the weekend

Earns her second career Player of the Week honor

Registered a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the series finale on Sunday after throwing a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the opener on April 5

Has thrown 33.0 consecutive scoreless innings during Big Ten play

Also had two hits and two RBI in five at-bats last weekend
