No. 10 TU Defeats No. 25 Saint Francis, Bradbury Reaches Milestone

UPLAND – The Trojans nabbed their fifth victory over a ranked or receiving votes opponent on Saturday, routing No. 25 Saint Francis by a score of 72-54. In a game that Taylor never trailed, Kendall Bradbury picked up her 2,400th career point after posting 16 in the first half.

The Trojans (13-4, 4-2 CL) opened the game with a hot start led by Bradbury with nine points and Becca Buchs with eight points. The Cougars (11-7, 3-3 CL) drew even with Taylor before a nine-point run from the end of the first through the first three and a half minutes in the second quarter propelled TU ahead.

The third quarter was dominated by TU, outscoring the Cougars 19-7. Aubrey Wright collected six points in the period, notching her 100th point on the season.

Rebounding was the difference in the third stanza, as the Trojans snagged a total of 14 rebounds compared to just four boards for Saint Francis.

Taylor carried a 20-point lead into the final quarter and would not waver. The team never allowed its advantage to slip below 16 points, finishing with an 18-point victory. The win marks Taylor’s fifth-straight victory.

Four Trojans finished with a double-digit scoring output. Bradbury posted a team-high 25 points, along with 10 rebounds for her eighth double-double. Becca Buchs followed with 17 points of her own, going five-for-10 from three point land.

Wright had a diverse contribution on the night, collecting 11 points, seven assists, four rebounds, three steals and one block.

The tenth-ranked Trojans will return to action across Grant County, as they head to Marion, Indiana on Wednesday to play against No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan (13-5, 6-0 CL) at 7:00 pm.
