SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Bethel College Pilots’ men’s basketball team lost their fifth game of the season—fourth to a top-ten ranked team—on Saturday afternoon, losing 78-68 to Crossroads League-leading Spring Arbor. The loss drops the Pilots to 4-4 in Crossroads League action and 15-5 overall.

  • Outside of Forman and Crews, the Pilots managed just 15 points on 5-of-24 shooting.
  • The Pilots used a 9-0 run to take their first lead of the ballgame at 43-41 with 12:52 remaining. They again led by 2 with 4:06 left when the Cougars used a 13-1 run to seize a 70-60 lead with 1:39 left.
  • The Pilots were outrebounded 41-27, their second-fewest rebounds in a game this season.
  • The Pilots shot a season-worst 8-15 from the free throw line.
  • Of the Pilots five losses this season, four have come to NAIA DII top ten-ranked teams.
