No.6 Marian blows out No.22 IWU

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – No. 22 Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball struggled to score Friday, falling 68-51 to No. 6 Marian University in the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals. Indiana Wesleyan shot 33% from the field on 16-of-48 shooting, their second-worst shooting performance of the season. Despite the struggle, IWU shot 92% from the free throw line, their best percentage of the season.

COSTLY TURNOVERS

Marian University capitalized on the Wildcat’s turnovers, scoring 23 total points off turnovers while IWU mustard just 11. IWU turned the ball over a total of 14 times in the contest while MU committed 11.

OUTREBOUNDED

For just the fourth time all season, the Wildcats failed to outrebound their opponent. Marian pulled down seven more boards than IWU for a total of 35, while IWU grabbed a season-low 28 rebounds. IWU has outrebounded its opponents over the course of the season 1334 to 986.

NEXT TIME OUT-Indiana Wesleyan will wait and see if they make the 2019 NAIA National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
