In 2010 Mike Tirico presented me with my fourth “Indiana Sportscaster of the Year” award, Ironically, in 2010 I shared the stage with my friend Don Fischer, the long-time voice of the Indiana Hoosiers. It was very humbling to be honored by the IHSAA in 1999 with the IHSAA Distinguished Media Award. What thrill it was for me also to be awarded a National Championship “ring” by Bethel College in 2007 after the Pilots won the NCCAA crown. In addition, being awarded the Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) state media award in 1995 was very meaningful to me. In addition, in 2010 I was inducted in to the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame in front of our staff, family and dear friends. • National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA) “Indiana Sportscaster of the Year” 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010 • IHSAA Distinguished Media Award 1999 • Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Award 1996 • Indiana Football Coaches Association State Media Award 1995 • Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association “Marv Bates Indiana Sportscaster of the Year” 2005 • Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association
