Pilots Finish Fifth at Campbellsville

 

The Bethel men’s golf team trimmed 29 strokes off their team score in the final round at the Campbellsville University Invite and finished the 36-hole tournament tied for fifth place. After carding a 335 on Monday, the Pilots responded on Tuesday with a team total of 306 to finish at 641. The hosts, Campbellsville, won the tournament with a two-day tally of 610.

Senior Zach Hochstedler made his move in the final round, putting together a round of 73 to couple with his round of 78 on Monday. The two-day score of 151 landed him in a tie for seventh on the individual leaderboard. Classmate Tim Johnson, who led BC in the opening round with a score of 75, finished day two with a 77. His 152 landed him in ninth position in the field of 37. Bethel’s final two scores came by way of Roman Ojala and Reis Yoder who carded identical 78s.

The Pilots have two more tournaments on the docket this spring, the first of which is the Pilot Spring Invite hosted at Blackthorn Golf Course in South Bend. Play will tee off on Friday and will conclude on Saturday.
