BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Purdue University Northwest baseball team lost to Olivet Nazarene University in a pair of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference contests Saturday afternoon.

Game 1: ONU 5, PNW 0

After three scoreless innings, the Tigers jumped on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth frame, taking a 4-0 advantage over the Pride.

ONU would score one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI-double from R.W. Rienow.

The Pride would be held scoreless for the remainder of the contest, with the Tigers earning the 5-0 victory.

The Tigers would tack on two more runs in the bottom of the eighth, which would be the final runs of the game, leading them to a 5-2 victory.

Jordan Petty (Fort Collins, Colo./Highland) got the start for the Pride on the mound, allowing just one run through six innings while striking out one.

Brett Shoults (Oxford, Ind./Benton Central) and Deven Smith (Royal Center, Ind./Pioneer) each pitched one inning for the Pride out of the bullpen.
