Volleyball Drops Road Contest to Parkside Friday Night
KENOSHA, Wis. – The Purdue University Northwest volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Wisconsin Parkside Friday night.
Parkside would win the opening set, 25-15, but the Pride would start off Set 2 with a 6-5 lead thanks to a kill from Jenna Dal Santo (St. John, Ind./Andrean).
The Rangers would answer back and eventually take an 18-11 advantage before the Black and Gold battled late in the set to get within 1, 23-22, after an Annie Pulizos (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) kill.
After the set became even 24-24, Parkside tallied the next two points to win, 26-24 to take a two set advantage.
The Pride led 14-12 midway through the final set, but the Rangers were able to go on a late run and win the third set, 25-20, to secure their victory.
Jenna Dal Santo led the Pride with 10 kills, Carissa Jones (Whiting, Ind./Bishop Noll) notched eight kills and Abigail Negri (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point)recorded a double-double with 31 assists and 11 digs to headline the leaders for PNW.
PNW returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 23 when they travel to Chicago, Ill. for a non-conference match with St. Xavier University at 7 pm (CST).
