Purdue Northwest Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches at Dunn Hospitality Invite
EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
 The Purdue University Northwest volleyball team dropped the opening match of the Dunn Hospitality Invitational to Northwood University, 3-0, before dropping its second match to host Southern Indiana in three sets.

Match 1: Northwood 3, PNW 0

Jenna Pasko (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South) led the Pride with 12 kills, while tallying 15 digs and a pair of block assists.

Senior Gabrielle Martin (DeMotte, Ind./Kankakee Valley) notched nine kills, while Brooke Ahrens (Covington, Ind./Covington) recorded 23 assists and 11 digs to headline the leaders for the Black and Gold.

The Timberwolves won the opening set 25-16, but the Pride jumped out to an 11-9 lead in Set 2 thanks to a kill by Kayla Elsea (Palmyra, Ind./Crawford County).

Northwood answered back winning the second set, 25-18, before winning the final set 25-17 to earn the three-set win.

Match 2: Southern Indiana 3, PNW 0

Carissa Jones (Whiting, Ind./Bishop Noll), Gabrielle Martin and Kayla Elsea all notched a team-high seven kills in the second match of the day with Elsea recording a .500 attack percentage and one block assist.

Southern Indiana took a 9-5 advantage to start off the opening set, but the Pride got within a point, 13-12, after a kill by Elsea.

The Screaming Eagles extended their lead later in the set, before winning 25-22 to take a one-set advantage.

PNW dropped the next two sets to USI to give the Screaming Eagles the three-set victory.

Purdue Northwest is back in action Saturday for the final day of the Dunn Hospitality Invite as the Pride face off with North Alabama at 11:30 am (CT) followed by their last match of the day against Cedarville at 4:30 pm (CT).
