Chicago, IL. The Holy Cross College women’s basketball traveled to Illinois to take on  RV Roosevelt University in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Saints fell to the Lakers 80 – 60. Women’s basketball drops to 10-9 overall for the year, and 4-5 in CCAC play.

After a back and forth battle for most of the first half, Holy Cross College trailed 39-26 after the first 20 minutes of action. Keysha Streaterrecorded nine points in the first half.

An Eryn Leek three, to start the second half, would build the Saints’ momentum as they would tie the game 48-48 halfway through the third quarter. The Lakers would go on a run of their own and end the third quarter up 64-52. Holy Cross was unable to overcome that deficit in the fourth quarter.

Keysha Streater and Tagin Shultheis each recorded 16 points, while Streater added a team-high nine rebounds. Junior Jessica Norris contributed with 12 points. The Saints shot 31% from the field and 30% from three.

Women’s basketball will be back in action Saturday, January 13, when they host Saint Ambrose University. Tipoff is set for 1:00pm.
