Saints WBB falls 74-65 is CCAC opener

Notre Dame, Ind. The Holy Cross College women’s basketball team opened their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play this evening when they hosted St. Xavier University. The Saints fell to the Cougars 74-65. With the loss, women’s basketball stands at 1-6 overall and 0-1 in CCAC while SXU improves 1-2 and 1-0 in CCAC.

Key Notes of the Game:

– Holy Cross shot 41 % from the field and 29% from behind the arc

– The Saints were plagued with 26 turnovers but forced 19 turnovers

– Women’s basketball led 52-49 heading into the 4thquarter, but were outscored 25-13 the final 10 minutes

By the Numbers:

– Keysha Streater finished with a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds

– Jessica Norris hit 3 threes in route to 14 points

– Arielle Thatcher went 5/8 from the field for 12 points

– Alex Forster finished with 10 points and a team high 6 assists
