KANSAS CITY, Mo.- For the fifth consecutive season, the Southeastern University women’s basketball team is heading to the NAIA National Championship Tournament in Sioux City Iowa. The Fire were announced as a one seed in the Liston Bracket and the overall No. 2 seed in the field.

SEU earned an automatic bid to the national tournament after clinching The Sun Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championship for the fourth-straight season, something no other team had accomplished in conference history. The Fire enter the national postseason with a 27-2 overall record.

The Marian University Knights are the second-seeded team in the Liston Bracket and Crossroads League Regular Season Champions. They will face the seventh-seeded Oregon Tech from the Cascade Conference.

The Antelope Valley Pioneers are the third-seeded team after winning the Cal Pac Tournament. They face the sixth-seeded Morningside Mustangs, who earned an at-large bid from the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

The No. 4 seed is the Dordt Defenders, the second GPAC team in the Liston Bracket, who will host fifth-seeded IU Northwest out of the Association of Independents.

The eight-seeded team and Southeastern’s opponent in the First Round is the Alice Lloyd College Eagles, who were the River States Conference Regular Season Champions.

The Fire will take on the Eagles next Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. eastern. Be sure to follow @SEUFireWBB on Twitter for all the latest updates on Fire hoops!
