Sooners tabbed 2024 ATEC/NFCADivision I National Coaching Staff of the Year
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Coming off its record fourth consecutive national title, University of Oklahoma was voted by its peers as the 2024 ATEC/NFCA Division I National Coaching Staff of the Year, the Association announced on Thursday.

Under the direction of NFCA Hall of Fame head coach Patty Gasso, associate head coaches Jennifer Rocha and JT Gasso and assistant coach Falepolima Steele, the Sooners became the first program to win four consecutive national crowns in NCAA softball. OU completed the most dominant four-year span in NCAA Division I history with a two-game sweep of Texas in the Women’s College World Series Championship Series in front of a sellout crowd of 12,324 at Devon Park. Over the last four years, the Sooners posted a 235-15 overall record which was good for a .940 winning percentage.

The unanimous No. 1 team in final USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll finished the season 59-7, which included a 10-1 postseason record en route to OU’s eighth national crown, matching Arizona for the second most WCWS titles. Since Gasso took the reigns in 1995, the Sooners are 1,515-352-2 (.811) and have participated in 17 WCWS. In 34 total seasons as a head coach, Gasso has a career record 1,676-411-3 (.802).
Gasso and her staff will be recognized at the NFCA Awards Brunch on Dec. 7 at the 2024 NFCA Convention in Dallas, Texas.
