Taylor and USF’s Singer Poised for NAIA National Championships
KANSAS CITY – The 2017 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women’s Golf National Championships will take place on May 23-26 at the PGA National Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with Taylor competing as a team and Marrisa Singer of Saint Francis playing as an individual.
Taylor clinched its first-ever trip to the NAIA National Championships by rallying to claim its first-ever Crossroads League Championship. The Trojans won their final four events of the spring season and will compete with Maddie Thomas, Raquel Helton, Brittany Pfaff, Grace Elenbaas and Elizabeth Jackson at Nationals.
USF’s Singer secured the Crossroads League’s automatic individual bid to Nationals after running away with the individual Crossroads League Championship by a three-round tally of 229 for an eight-shot lead over the field.
The four-round tournament will feature a cut after 54 holes, with the top-17 teams and top-40 individuals advancing to the final round.
