Trojans Slowed By No. 3 Indiana Tech in Road Loss

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Taylor fell short to another nationally-ranked opponent on Wednesday evening, as No. 3 Indiana Tech dominated play throughout the contest and scored a 17-4 win over the Trojans.

The Warriors (12-2, 6-1 WHAC) kept their conference championship hopes alive by holding TU without a score in the second and third quarters and to only one goal until midway through the fourth.

Indiana Tech turned in a nearly flawless effort, putting 34-of-61 shots on goal, going 30-for-30 in clear attempts and forcing 27 Taylor turnovers.

Grant Gerig got the Trojans on the board with an unassisted goal at the 1:57 point in the first, but TU did not find the net again until Tyler Gerig posted a trio of unassisted strikes over the final nine minutes.

Grant Gerig added seven ground balls to his one goal, while Nathan Sahly picked up nine ground balls.

The loss was just the third time this season that Taylor failed to score at least 10 goals and dropped TU to 0-6 on the year when scoring fewer than 14 times in a contest.

RV Taylor (5-6, 1-6 WHAC) will close its regular season on Saturday at 1:00 pm when it hosts Concordia (4-8, 1-6 WHAC) for Senior Day.
