Uribe Second as Fire Place Third at Georgetown

  1. AUGUSTINE, Fla.—Junior Ana Uribe’s runner-up finish helped the Fire women’s golf team finish fourth at the Georgetown College Invitational, hosted at PGA World Golf Village’s Slammer & Squire course.

Uribe shot an even-par 72 in the second round, finishing with a 36-hole score of 151. Samantha Fuller of Keiser was the medalist with a score of 145 (72-73).

As a team, the Fire were third, finishing behind No. 7 USCB and No. 1 Keiser. The Fire were three shots ahead of 15th ranked Taylor.

Lindsey Gonzalez finished 17th for Southeastern with a total score of 166 (79-87), and Valentina Espinosa was two shots back in a tie for 22nd, shooting 81 and 87.

Ashlynn Joyner posted scores of 80 and 92 to tie for 25th, and Brooke Wetzel finished 32nd with scores of 93 and 85.

The Fire will next compete on March 11 and 12 at the Point Invitational.
