2022 MSFA All-Mideast League Team announced

The two MSFA Mideast League playoff teams were well represented, with a combined 20 First Team selections between league champs Indiana Wesleyan and runners-up Marian, as the 2022 All-MSFA Mideast League team was announced by the Association on Monday.

The 5th-ranked Wildcats led the way with 13 First Team honors, along with No. 7 Marian’s seven, and Siena Heights’ six selections. Indiana Wesleyan wideout Jacquez Carter was named the Mideast League Offensive Player of the Year, after leading the Wildcats with 68.2 receiving yards per game and a league-high 68 catches, along with nine TDs.

On the other side of the ball, Siena Heights’ Kole Murlin and Marian’s Logan Blake were named Mideast League Co-Defensive Players of the Year, with Murlin claming the honor for a record third time. Murlin led the Mideast League and ranked 4th in the NAIA with an average of 11.4 tackles per game, with his 5.5 sacks placing him fifth among Mideast League defenders. Blake finished the season with a team-high 69 tackles for Marian, along with four sacks and a pair of interceptions.

Marian’s Zach Sibila took home the inaugural MSFA Mideast League Offensive Lineman of the year, after helping lead the Knights’ attack to an MSFA-high 412.9 yards of total offense per game.

IWU head coach Jordan Langs was also recognized, earning the MSFA Mideast League Coach of the Year award for the second consecutive season. Eric Terrazas, offensive coordinator for the Wildcats, was tagged as this year’s Mideast League Assistant Coach of the Year.
