Three Pilots Pick-Up All-Tournament Honors at Midway

It was a successful trip to Lexington, Kentucky, for the BC women’s golf team. After 36 holes, BC picked up a runner-up finish as well as a fifth-place finish in the field of eight teams and landed three on the Midway University Invite All-Tournament Team.

The Pilots’ top finishers were twin sisters Annie Smith and Allie Smith. The Smith tandem finished with matching two-day totals of 162, landing the pair in a three-way tie for third place in the field. While Annie Smith competed for Bethel’s second-place squad, Allie Smith contributed her score to the fifth-place finishing team. Joining the Smiths on the all-tournament team was Chloe Crusan who finished her second round with an 81, which paired up with her 84 for a final score of 165. That mark put her into sixth place overall.

Also contributing to the daily score for the runners-up were Jocelyn Ojala’s 80, Brooke Thomas’ 81, and Katie Brooks’ 84. Rounding out the fifth-place finishers team tally were Taylor Russell’s 91 and Delaney Barr’s 92.

The Pilots have three more tournaments on the docket this spring, the first of which is the Pilot Spring Invite hosted at Blackthorn Golf Course in South Bend. Play will tee off on Friday and will conclude on Saturday.
