SOUTH BEND, Ind.- On Wednesday, January 17, Indiana University South Bend Head Volleyball Coach Alison Derdzinski announced that she will not be returning to her duties as the Titans head coach for the 2024 season.

Alison has been with the program since its inception as an assistant coach and head coach, helping Titans volleyball reach the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Tournament in 2016-2017, 2019-2020, and 2021-2022.

In her tenure as both an assistant and head coach, Derdzinski has coached five NAIA All-Americans, five AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) All-Americans, an AVCA NAIA Midwest Setter of the Year, a CCAC Setter of the Year and a CCAC Player of the Year.

Athletic Director Scott Cooper had the following comments regarding Derdzinski’s departure, “We are incredibly grateful to Alison for her thirteen years of service to our volleyball program. She has been with the team as both an assistant coach and head coach since it began. Coach Al is a big part of the reason the program has made three NAIA national tournament appearances, and graduated nearly every single athlete that completed their eligibility at IU South Bend. We will miss having her as part of our team, but wish her all the best in whatever she decides to do next.”

Alison Derdzinski leaves IU South Bend with a 202-193 record overall and a 132-79 record in the CCAC in her time as both an assistant and head coach.
