Ancilla Disposes of Lansing, 114-77

Plymouth – #1 Ancilla College wasted no time in taking command on its way to a 114-77 victory over Lansing Community College in a Michigan Community College Athletic Association game at the LifePlex, Saturday. The Chargers (25-2, 15-1) showed no ill effects from their first conference loss earlier this week.

Jair Rodgers (South Bend) had a game-high 27 points and in the process also claimed Ancilla’s all-time men’s career scoring mark. Rodgers broke the record of 1,018 previously held by Juwan Johnson (South Bend). The new mark is 1,027.

Tyler Chisom (Chicago) scored 19, Teyon Scanlan (Indianapolis) added 14 and DK Fox (Elkhart) netted 11.  Ty’Sean Sheppard (South Bend) scored 13 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out six assists and had three steals and led Ancilla in three statistical categories.

On Monday Ancilla travels to Glen Oaks for a 7:30 p.m. game and Wednesday they conclude their regular season by hosting Lake Michigan at 7:30 p.m. in the LifePlex in Plymouth.  March 3rd they will host the MCCAA East Division winner in a conference showdown for number one. That game will be at 3 p.m.  The following week they head to the Region 12 tournament as the top seed. A victory there will send them to nationals.
