PLYMOUTH – Mike Green scored a career-high 30 points as Ancilla College held on to beat a pesky Morton College team 84-74 Saturday afternoon at the LifePlex in Plymouth.
It took both teams a while to get going as they were mired in an Ancilla leading 13-10 stalemate midway through the first half. The Chargers (4-0) had a 32-28 advantage at the half. But the ending was nothing like the beginning. Josh Alcindor and Jerron Tatum connected on a trio of three-pointers in the final few minutes to give Ancilla the separation it had worked for all game.
Alcindor finished with 13 points, with Marco Beverly, who had a couple of key plays to help Ancilla reclaim the lead midway through the second half., scoring 11 and Kyreese Parker netting 11.
